Dr.
John Hibscher - Psychologist, Director of Clinical Services
Dr. John Hibscher received both his Masters and Doctorate degrees in
Psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Prior to
moving to the Big Island in Hawaii in 1997, he had a private practice
in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he also consulted to a variety of
hospitals, organizations, health facilities, and government agencies.
Dr.Hibscher maintains memberships in the American Psychological
Association, the National Register of Health Service Providers in
Psychology, and the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.

Dr.
Mike McGrath - Psychiatrist & Addiction Specialist
Michael John McGrath was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He
graduated Cum Laude from Northern Illinois University. He then got his
first experience working in chemical dependence as a counselor at the
Center for Addictive Problems in Chicago helping heroin addicts become
stabilized on methadone. After working there for a year he attended
Southern Illinois University Medical School and graduated with honors.
He did his residency in psychiatry at the University of California
,Irvine where he was voted Chief Resident. From there he moved to
Hawaii as part of a joint position with the University of Hawaii,
Department of Psychiatry and the State of Hawaii Department of Health.
He worked in that position as an Assistant Professor for 15 years
helping persons with serious mental illness and substance abuse
problems.
He has worked in all phases of recovery from outpatient, intensive
outpatient, residential and inpatient. He started the first Suboxone
program for patients in the Department of Health in the state. He was
the Medical Director of the 11 bed inpatient behavioral health unit in
Kealakekua from its opening until 2007. It was there that he refined
his skills detoxifying hundreds of patients from multiple substance
addictions. In 2005 he became Board Certified by the American Society
of Addiction Medicine. |
Eliza
Wille, MS -
Program Director, Animal Assisted Psychotherapy Specialist
Eliza holds a Master of Science degree in Psychology from the London
School of Economics. She completed her undergraduate work at the
University of Hawaii at Manoa where she spent nearly a decade
participating in cognition and learning research on captive dolphins
through the psychology department. She has worked in the field of
mental health in both a supervisory and direct service capacity for
over a decade. |
Fernando
Mañon, MSEd, CSAC - Therapist, Substance Abuse Counselor
Fernando Mañon began working in the substance
abuse/addiction field in 1987 in New York City and continues his work
as a counselor/therapist at Hawaii Island Recovery. Fernando holds a
Masters Degree in counseling (MSEd.) from Hunter College in NYC and is
a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC)
in the state of Hawaii. He is also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor
(LMHC) and a retired
Certified Alcohol and Substance Counselor (CASAC) in New York State. He
has worked with both the adult and adolescent population and has been
in his own personal recovery for decades. Fernando believes that every
alcoholic and addict can be helped to get and stay clean and sober as
long as they are willing to walk along with him on the road to peace,
love and happiness. |
Johnny
Fox, MSW - Psychotherapy Specialist
Johnny Fox, MSW received his Masters in Clinical Social Work from
Virginia Commonwealth University as well as his BA in Psychology from
West Virginia University. Born in Virginia, Johnny has been working in
the field of mental health for over 9 years. He has held meaningful
roles in a vast array of agencies including Hospice, Child and Family
Services, CARE HAWAII and APS Healthcare. Johnny uses a variety of
psychological theories and practices to provide quality care to people
in the community dealing with mental illness. His unique ability and
never-ending positive attitude has helped many people through different
walks of life. Johnny currently conducts a Processing Group as well as
individual Psychotherapy sessions for Hawaii Island Recovery. |
Lida
Hibscher - Director of Wellness/Healing and Recreational Services
Lida Hibscher is a retired physician and Reiki Practitioner. She has a
love for nature and is experienced in a variety of outdoor activities
including climbing, hiking, white water rafting, skiing, etc. |
